Les principaux objectifs de l’association sont les suivants : -Promouvoir les échanges sur l’enseignement et l’apprentissage de l’anglais, langue seconde à tous les niveaux du système scolaire: primaire, secondaire, collégial, universitaire et éducation aux adultes; -Regrouper les personnes-ressources capables d’assurer une part de la formation continue des enseignants au congrès ou en région; -Favoriser la recherche de solutions concrètes aux problèmes vécus par les enseignants d’anglais langue seconde; -Intervenir auprès du Gouvernement du Québec, et surtout auprès du ministère de l’Éducation, pour promouvoir l’enseignement de l’anglais, langue seconde; -Imprimer, éditer des revues, journaux, périodiques et plus généralement toute publication pour fins d’information et de culture professionnelle; -Étudier, promouvoir, protéger et développer de toute manière, les intérêts économiques, sociaux et professionnels de ses membres. SPEAQ is a professional association concerned with the teaching of English as a second language in the province of Quebec.
